<BR>Job Description:<BR><BR> Application Architect<BR>Description: <BR>Application Architect specialized in Mainframe and J2EE architecture . - contractor based in Minneapolis Contract period - 6 to 12 months. Systems Architect 5 with strong technical and communication skills. <BR><BR>Participates in the design and development of business and system architectures. <BR>Responsible for working highly complex architectural impact projects and directing implementation of the <BR>architecture for a single or multiple applications or system components. Assists senior architects with <BR>conducting complex technology and system assessments for component architecture and <BR>may participate in enterprise architecture activity. Provides technical and systems <BR>consultation to internal clients and technical management to ensure alignment with <BR>Enterprise Architecture. Exposure to agile or similar kind of iterative development process. <BR><BR>Acts as a technical expert on the design and development of highly <BR>complex, large-scale Mainframe applications on Z/OS and very good exposure to DB2, JCL, COBOL, MQ on mainframe. <BR>Application tuning experience especially with DB2 is a plus. <BR><BR>Also acts as an architect for Internet applications on Unix/Linux platform <BR>Uses expert knowledge of Web technologies, including Java, <BR>Java Script, HTML, XML, Perl, multimedia applications, database modeling tools <BR>and/or database interactions. Evaluates systems specifications for client area Website <BR>requirements and determines and implements the most efficient and cost-effective <BR>software/package solution. Does researching and tracking new Web <BR>technologies, developing applications, and analyzing business requirements as they <BR>pertain to Web based systems. Able to learn new technologies on the job. <BR><BR><BR>Required Skill Set : Mainframe, DB2, MQ, COBOL, JCL JEE Java, JSP, JavaScript & AJAX, XML, SOA & Web Services, SOAP.
